Today we will be going over placing trades and orders directly from the charts. To place trades directly from my chart I will use the Sell and Buy icons found here above my chart. These trades will apply to the chart’s active product, in this case Euro / Dollar. So I will click Buy, select the number of lots.
I wish to trade, and then click buy again. Now let’s say I would like to add a stop loss and limit order to my Euro / Dollar position. I will right click on the Euro / Dollar chart and a wide range of options will appear, including, view expanded position details, liquidate current position, place new order, add to watchlist and open chart.
I am going to select New order to place my stop loss and limit, then click submit order to confirm. (Your order has been placed) Now that I have an open order for Euro / Dollar, it is represented by a line on my chart. I can easily modify my order by clicking on that line, dragging it to the new rate, and then releasing my mouse. I will select modify order to confirm.
(Your order has been placed) In addition to the position management options you have by right clicking on the charts, you are also able to easily add the chart’s active product to your watchlist. By clicking on this option, the product is added to a list of items I would like to follow most closely, shown here. I can also click on Market, in this box, to change my execution mode.
